About Our Whole Home Humidifier Systems
Winters in Utah are usually long, cold, and dry, forcing you to keep your house closed. Our furnaces heat and circulate the low-humidity winter air, drying our homes even more. Indoor relative humidity is critical to your health and comfort in your home. The ideal indoor humidity is between 35% and 45%. With Manwill’s whole house humidifiers, we can help you to ensure that your home stays at the ideal humidity levels throughout the drying winter season, keeping you as healthy and comfortable as possible.
What Humidifier is best for you
Bypass Fresh Water Humidifier
Bypass humidifiers use fresh water to add humidity to the air by acting as an evaporator. A water control valve adds fresh water to the panel while your furnace runs. This saturated pad then uses the “hot positive air pressure” in the ductwork to bypass through the moist pad into the “room temperature negative air pressure” duct and add humidity to the air stream. That air gets distributed and circulated throughout the home. This humidifier can humidify up to 4000 sq. ft. in a tightly constructed home and uses up to 17 gallons daily.
Powered Fresh Water Humidifier
The Powered Humidifier uses the same evaporative method as a bypass humidifier, but it does so a little bit differently. It uses an internal fan to pull air out of the ductwork and then forces it through the moist pad and back into the same ductwork. The powered humidifier can humidify up to 4500 sq. ft. in a tightly constructed home and uses up to 18 gallons per day.
Steam Humidifier
Steam humidifiers use electricity to turn water into steam and inject it into the supply (hot air) side of the ductwork. They use a canister that holds the water and converts it to steam, which needs to be replaced annually. Steam humidifiers can save on using fresh water. However, they can be costly to operate, depending on the size of the home. Steam humidifiers generally need 220v power installed to generate the steam and operate correctly.
